They had recently opened a small bike race track about 2 hours from my house. A few friends and myself decided to go check it out. The bikes we took a 2016 Kawi 300, 2012 cbr250r, 2014 Duke 200, 1991 2 stroke race scooter. The track is very small and technical, by the end of the day I managed to get to 4th gear for the long right hander before turn 2, you can hold 3rd gear for the next 5 turns then have to drop to 2nd for the double apex left. briefly shift to 3rd after the double apex then hard on the brakes, downshift back to second for a very tight left, then right. My little brother was the first one to wreck on turn 13, nothing major to him or my 250. In total 5 wrecks 2 major out of the 5. The day was really good and I learnt a lot. I am no kevin khan yet :P There was a group of CBR150 riders that showed up and really ruined the day for most of us, they where new to the track didnt uberstand the rules and pretty much did what they wanted.

    The track

A few of me trying to learn and lean

The day ended for me about 330PM, a 150 rider was pulling out of pit lane, I was already on my 2nd lap and running fast towards pit lane exit, the rider looked at me and still pulled out right in front of me causing me to brake hard and swerve to miss him, then he attempted to chase me down with cold tires, he ended up sliding on turn 5 which ended his day at the track. Luckily for him he ended it himself as I was going to end it for him once the time limit was up.

@94f2-08rr No sir I am staying in Philippines, want to retire here. I have everything paid off except for my house which I will pay off in a few years. The only way I will return to USA is if my son decides he wants to go to school in America. Thanks my 250 has been through hell and still doing good. It wasnt hurt in the wreck, I think my little bro’s pride got hurt worse.

@sdm1 – Okay. For some reason I was thinking you were coming back… maybe it was that you were coming home (this was months ago I would have read this) for awhile. Probably assumed you meant back here.. Sometimes that pride is harder to fix than the bike. Anyway, nice job on the track day. Are more in the plans?

When I say home I mean my home in Philippines. We are trying to get the wife a visit visa so she can meet the rest of my family in USA. I have plenty more track days to look forward to, end of February we are going to CIS Clark International Speedway. Its more of a bike/car race track. I will take my CB1000R & my little brother will bring his RR (my old bike that he is now the proud owner of) I can only fit 2 bikes on my trailer, so I have asked My friend that owns the Kawi 300 if he might have a spot left on his trailer for my 250 so hopefully I can have both my bikes at the track.
