My 6 year old son wanted to make the globe in his ceiling fan glow in the dark. So, we made it a project night and he helped make it a reality. lol. We mixed 2 part water-clear epoxy with blue phosphorescent powder to pour inside the globe and just rotated to even out the coat while it was curing.

Why not put some on the blades too?
A few glow in the dark stickers makes for a pretty cool spinning effect.

    Cool blue globe though!
How long did you have to spin it for?

@74demon : I Rotated it about every half hour for about 3-4 hours. It was already getting tacky and seemed to have a thick coat on the sides, before I went to bed. At that point I set it in a cup to hold it upright and it does have a little more settled at the bottom, but I think it turned out well. The 2 part epoxy that I have is a 1:1 and takes 24 hours for a soft cure (72 hours to fully cure). So, I guess it would mostly depend on which epoxy you used and the cure time. We have also moved to mostly all LED lights in the house. So, heat was not a concern.

I’ll have to look into the stickers, we didn’t even think of that. So, thank you.

A thin coat of your epoxy on the tips would work out great!

Just don’t put too much or it could wobble.
