We were on a group ride, there were I think seven of us, and we all took off fast at the light running down the beach, speed limit 45mph. I hit 60mp and just cruised. There were three that kept going hitting about 100mph and the cop was coming the other direction. He pulled into the turnaround and had his finger out counting all the riders as they raced by. Everyone scattered. By the time I hit the next light they had all disappeared. One had hit the casino garage. One went behind the waffle house and had a smoke. Others just hit side streets. We all met back up at the lighthouse. Luckily the cop just turned up the street and did not follow since I was trailing I’m sure I would have been the one stopped. We met back up later and the group decided it best to split up and be done for the day before we were spotted again. I really don’t see any point in running ever because it will be worse for you in the end. Wrecked or in jail. If I get caught speeding I’m better to just pay the fine. If not, don’t speed…

@broccoli2 It’s amazing how fast you get up to speed, so many times I look down and go oops… that was classic though.

There were four of us leaving New Orleans a couple weeks ago and we just opened it up and the was an undercover up ahead that hit his lights, we all slowed down and he just turned his lights off. Whew!

@spdygak Yea that bike was fast. If you pause it at about 3 1/2 sec right after the corner while still over the double yellow i was at 62 then pinned it… I think I hit the corner at about 45ish…

I’ve had mine to 155 ONCE. Then The grownup took over… No cops.

I did pass a cop heading to get a picture challenge (next to a state trooper) I was running about 135 and the cop was setting in the medium he just flashed his lights and waved. LOL.

Admin had just said do 120 down the highway and you’ll find a state trooper… He was right, but I wasn’t going back for that pic.

@dubv I think they just don’t wanna chase sometimes. By the time they get up to speed you are waaay gone.

We went over the Bay St Louis bridge and I hit 155 at about 10 or 11k rpms. That’s the fastest I’ve been. Don’t do it often and not for very long. No cops on the bridge

New Mexico has small towns, with desert all around. Local town LEO’s (Law Enforcement Officers) won’t waste gas money, patrolling too far out of town, in desert. State Police are busy with meth-traffic on main corridors.
In the desert, you can go one-hundred-and-stoopid all day long. I ripped through White Sands one day, going to Las Cruces to have lunch with Thirdgenlxi. When I got back to the ville, I blew past a local, who was on a side street. I pulled over and got my papers out. When he caught up to me, he just cruised past, wagging his finger, as if to say “Naughty boy!” I never sped in the ville again. He gained my compliance by letting me off with that warning.
Rumor has it that they may not get into high-speed chases with superbikes in Albuquerque. I’ll not put that to the test, though.
Here’s a fun fact; “Cop” is a derogatory term, as if to say police are worth a penny, or a “Copper”. Have nice day.
