And the sliders… Note the bigger hole is where the needle goes through and that the upper hole is plugged, lower hole is unmolested..
06/19/13 at 8:43 am #34383Isnt the extra hole a sign of a previous jet kit? when i put a dyno stage one jet kit in my ole 900RR i had to drill a similar hole in each slide. not nearly that big tho.. Good progress brother, nice shop i see in the background too.
06/19/13 at 12:59 pm #34398Ah-hah! I see I’m not the only guy using a Harbor Freight digital caliper!!
I will say, so far it’s been right on line with measurements also taken with a Starrett unit.

the F2’s have 2 holes stock… and yes some of the kits out there say to drill a 3rd, but said no to that… plugging the one hole and leaving only the one allows for a slight quicker off the line response.
@JNSRacing — digital is the only way to go with their zero out calibration button… makes life easier
06/25/13 at 11:39 pm #34702@cbr-f2 You get her done yet? More pics please. The weather is going to be nice this weekend, you want to ride? Need an extra set of hands to get on the road soon?
@jnsracing I have an old analog set and a harbor freight digi set. Harbor Freight is a great value and never had an issue yet.
06/25/13 at 11:43 pm #34703D, love the gloves. Dont like dirt? I bet you have soft hands boy.
06/26/13 at 12:17 am #34704@theredrocket … My F2 is up and runnin… I have just been taking my time workin on an RC51 that I have at my place… I could always use a hand putting that monster back together. Hopin I get it done and rip it around this weekend, if I can…
06/26/13 at 1:27 am #34705@cbr-f2 Let me know when your getting at it next and I will come over. Tomorrow I am going to pick up a 74′ XL350 blue color scheme. Its mostly in boxes and only missing the seat. I will have to do some welding and hammer out the tank but looking forward to a rainy day project. DUDE cannot wait to fire up the 51!
07/02/13 at 12:37 am #34895Patience paid off. Got some info for a couple different ways for the airbox mod…
Pics and specs. Coming soon…07/03/13 at 12:43 pm #34963here it is… now just need to install it and give it a shot…
1/4 inch drill bit to make the hole
07/16/13 at 9:45 pm #35546Just put the airbox top in today… Now I guess I will see/feel for any improvement…
07/19/13 at 4:16 pm #35638it works!!! it actually does make a difference in the mid range pull and top end screams up a little faster…
Nope… it really didnt do anything except create a whistling noise at certain rpms…
08/16/13 at 10:38 pm #36617So today I decided to put my bar end weights back on. Thanks to @jnsracing for hooking me up with a inner weight to replace a mangled one… Also changed grips back to an o.e. look.
08/19/13 at 10:19 am #36644I’m glad that clip-on could be of some use to somebody – the other one was bent, so I didn’t think I would be able to do anything with the good one!

11/08/13 at 3:08 pm #43431Well its been a while since ive done anything to the bike lately and or even udated anything to my build thread…. So currently as it sits i am waiting to get some new tires, change the rear sprocket to a 45 tooth from the fact. 43, also going to add some red reflective wheel strips, bring the carbs back to stock jetting(i think) or maybe go bigger… not quite sure yet… so until then i will be patiently waiting…

The front looks really nice… you should put some accents on the rims, while they’re off, a red or white stripe, maybe.

01/04/14 at 6:38 pm #53211Looks great! Can’t wait to see it when it’s all prettied up. Nice work.
01/04/14 at 7:00 pm #53213Thanx guys… All that’s really left is some minor polishing for some added protection to the paint and to get them balanced or not…
01/04/14 at 7:47 pm #53215Now that is sexy!! I like those rims. I think the RR rims are lame. I do like the 2013 rims though. This will look great all back together! Lookin forward to feedback on the tires!
