I also took this time to install a few new things for the old girl…

rear sprocket, ape man. chain tensioner, windscreen, mirrors with integrated led signals, speedo cable, a silly little cargo net and some extendable adjustable folding levers…

Well after a few weeks or so… I’ve come to the conclusion that I have repaired my odd oil leak into the cooling system. Hence— no more leak! Yay me! :drunk:
Also running the -1 +2 on the sprockets I’ve come to the conclusion as @jnsracing had told me and I knew rpms cruising would be greater. = not for me!!! In and around the city is ok though… Next I’m gonna try 15 in the front and 45 in the rear giving an even 3 to 1 ratio… :WTF:

That APE C.C.T. looks like a little piece of jewelry , Did it quiet things down a bit?
    Nice progress btw.

At cold start up the tensioner was fine… along with normal running, I switched due to it getting a bit noisy at hot start ups and then would quiet down once the pressure would come back… I should of gotten it when I replaced it shortly after picking up the bike…

    Thanx admin!

Just a small update but no pics… I just swapped the front sprocket back to the stock 15 tooth. Fuel mileage dropped from 46mpg to 40 running the -1/+2 setup. Fun, but not what I am lookin for. :pissed:

Yeah, these bikes can do better than 40mpg, that’s for sure, but then again Derek, just think about R1 owners… 26mpg to 29mpg is the best they can hope for! 8-O

I know it’s been a while since I’ve been on and active, so hears the scoop…
Decided it was time to do some things which are unknown of the last time or even done. Aah! The mysteries of used vehicles  so I started with checking the valve clearance… Which I was surprised that all are within specs.

Then tackled with changing the fork fluid with out completely tearing them apart and changing any of the seals which are not leaking. = Success! :gocrazy:

I was even able to get an actual fluid spec. amount to refill them to there proper level per factory requirement.

As of now I’m waiting for valve cover gasket to come in… I also cleaned up and re painted the top fork clamp…

Used this time to re jet the carbs to early F3 set up… and replace the spark plugs I believe show running a little rich.

Just realized that I forgot to mention while putting the top clamp on and following the repair manual instructions that the upper fork tubes on my F2 are in fact from an F3… made things a bit confusing for about a few beers worth… :poundinghead:

and yes Jeff I am going back together slowly… no rush since I have a few other projects thats going on at these moments…

I LOVE my Motion Pro auxiliary fuel supply, and have gotten PLENTY of use out of it!
I know you can make one easily enough, but I got mine so cheap, I figured, “why not?”

Were your throttle plates off by much, when you did the synch?
