Has anyone/know anyone that has used this on an exhaust? Ive been contemplating painting my exhaust black but this stuff would be great because it wouldnt be permanent. I just googled it and people have and say it works and holds up mine. The heat worries me though.

Haha well I know that. I wasnt sure if they had some sort of heat rated plasti dip that could withstand heat. I saw a bunch of people did it and it didnt melt off, which surprised me and made me curious as to whether it would work or if they had a special kind of it to withstand heat.

@mactacular Okay, so I wanted to test the color and my tired ole white stand needed a touch up sooo,
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

I sanded it down and hit it with whatever I had lying around to see if the base coat color affected the final blue, flat black, gloss black and gloss bue
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App
After a few coats I started the plast dip
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App
I don’t see much difference with diffent base coats. It still is a little too bright blue so I am rethinking the swingarm since I want a dark blue that is closer to the windscreen, grips and tank pad.
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

It is darker in person than the pic but not dark enough, hmmmmm. Maybe just powdercoat since I gotta do the pegs anyway

    Quinton Teter: Good feedback

Im just going to stop buy autozone, pepboys or advance autos and see if they have any spray tint in stock. My clear led front turn signals and my 3rd eye headlight need a few coats.

Oh man, I could seriously get into dipping. I have a black Xterra that I rubbed some Back to Black on … but if Dip sticks to wheels and trim, I might have a Plasti-gasm.

So let me get this straight … it comes in clear, matte, gloss, semi, and can be tinted?! Can I use an airbrush, or will an airless gun work … whew, I feel an addiction coming on. :)

@ninebymine no youre wrong..it comes in flat colors and clear… you can get a tint color too…it already comes in an aerosol can, like spray paint…so no need for an air brush or a spray gun….

its worth it..its definitely a plus for the Xterras because the black plastics get so dull in the sun!! DO IT!!! POST RESULTS!

@ninebymine Remember the key to any addiction is moderation or it will consume you. Right @mactacular ?!
