This year in Delhi Auto Show, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters Ltd. launched five two-wheelers for Indian market. Out of them, Dream Yuga is going to enter production line this May. Probable launch date is 15th May. With this model Honda eyes to corner a stake in entry level 100 cc commuter biking segment.
Expectedly, Honda has taken care of fuel economy and pricing with Yuga. The 110 cc engine cranks out maximum power of 9 hp at a rotation per minute of 7500. Maximum torque production from the nifty engine is 9 Nm at 6000 rpm, which quite sufficient for everyday road maneuver with a loaded pillion.
Official fuel efficiency figure is 72 km per liter. This is of course a fuel economy managed under standard test atmosphere. So, in real life you could expect a few kilometer less. However, that’ll also be quite impressive fuel economy in its class. As an everyday commuters’ bike, Dream Yuga will come with spacious and comfortable seating arrangement. Besides, for safer pillion riding you get a sturdy grab rail. For side-facing pillion rides, this will be specially helpful.
Alloy wheels and tough frame gives Yuga sufficient durability against uncompromising Indian terrain. You also get tubeless tires, which would make riding lot safer and hassle free. Drum brakes on front and rear wheels can give you enough control over the bike to skirt almost any obstacle while on move. Though, there is no official communication; we believe this will cost around Rs 46000.
Expectedly, Honda will face biggest competition from its previous ally Hero in commuters’ bike segment. Company is already planning for a celebrity endorsement of Yuga. Surely it’ll need a solid branding exercise given the brand loyalty in its class.
