@74demon the service dept. said the same thing, that it was okay being a bit too full. Its just odd that I’ve rode 350 miles since and only noticed the smell and the oil near the fill plug the last couple of days (last 50 miles). I’ll wipe it clean and see how it does during a planned ride tomorrow. Thanks again.

Thanks @01cbr600f4i my commute is about 25 minutes. In the cage it feels like 45 mins, on the bike 10 mins.

@74demon I feel dumb that I didn’t think to drain all and then refill to the correct level. Heres a photo with the bike upright, if I let it angle just a bit, the level drops below the top of the sight glass. Also of note, a trace of oil seems to have leaked from the fill plug down the case to the bottom. I washed the bike right after the…[Read more]

The local dealer filled my cbr 250r with too much oil. What is the easiest way to remove a little at a time? The dealer will lower it but can’t get me in for a week.

Nice 300+ mile ride today from Sarasota out and around lake okeechobee. Lived in Florida for 15 years and it seemed like a good time. Ok check, saw a lot of other bikes. Photo is an old canal control at the lake. image

@chrisfl I work at a VA as a cook so I don’t carry too much. I carry a knife kit and uniform and small miscellaneous items. I use an Ogio no drag mach 5.
Here’s a video of it. Might be just what you need, but they are pricey

@dubv I don’t have many options for the route to and from work. Your ride home sounds nice! Do you carry much on your commute? If so what type of storage do you have? I want to commute more but I need to carry a laptop and the old backpack I have doesn’t seen to be a good solution. Any recommendations
Thanks -

@emcue Yes, lol! I guess I’m not the only one that looks for any excuse to go for a ride. I’ll have to look at the game. Thanks

chrisfl replied to the topic Tank Bag or Backpack? in the forum Riding Gear Discussion 4 years, 6 months ago
Using an old jansport backpack for now, but it blocks the air flow through the back of my mesh jacket. A couple of days a week, I commute and need to carry a 15″ macbook pro retina. Looking at backpacks and tail bags made specifically for motorcycles. Really on the fence.
