@theredrocket There is one LED strip light around the very front, inside the air-intake and there are some flush mount “DRL” lights installed and silicone sealed about 3″ back from that. I didn’t take a picture of it before the front fairing went back on. That is done on both sides.

I started modding my bike a couple years ago. Seems that you can live with a lot, opposed to missing riding season. lol.
Slowly getting back on track….
The *garbage* “LED integrated mirrors” were removed and replaced with some metal CNCed mirrors. The problems that I had with the previous mirrors… 1) the “headphone-thick” wires.…[Read more] -

Retrotacular… subtle differences, of course. However… I cannot get the Kawasaki Z1/KZ900/KZ1000 from the 70’s out of my head, when I look at this bike. lol.

@74demon : I Rotated it about every half hour for about 3-4 hours. It was already getting tacky and seemed to have a thick coat on the sides, before I went to bed. At that point I set it in a cup to hold it upright and it does have a little more settled at the bottom, but I think it turned out well. The 2 part epoxy that I have is a 1:1 and…[Read more]

I was showing the light to Mike (bike-shop-guy), because I was talking about making a custom “Bat-logo” brake light to mount into the rear fender for a personal mod that he has going. It’s a batman themed bike, his son is into Batman. When he starts that project, I’ll post any custom work that I do for him.

It’s been an idea that has been brewing up in the head for a couple years. I finally made some effort into getting it out of my head and into the real world to compare. lol. I actually just wanted to test an idea and see how it preformed in the real world.
The problem that I saw with most LED lights, is that they are all basically a huge…[Read more]

Thanks, I’m hoping the next version works out much better. I have a friend that is going to draw up the 3D model and another friend that has a 3D printer. I think I have a slightly better design, that I’m working on. Sadly, I’m not using this for my bike since it has a custom mod and 4″ lights on it. But, it has been fun to test an idea.

Testing some design concepts utilizing reflection and refraction to make a LED light that is bight (seen), but not obnoxious (flood lights into someones eyes).
Some test in mid day light for version 0.1 of the light. I’m going to try another design idea, but wanted to finish this one first. This one uses 5mm and 10mm LEDs.
Half the light…[Read more] -

Couple notes, feel free to tell me to keep my 2 cents:
* I would be cautious with the LED strip. Primary being how visible is it in daytime riding? I don’t have any info on intensity or viewing angle of the LEDs, etc. But real world test, would you make your lights less visible in daylight than the stock lights?* Make sure that you correct…[Read more]

@74demon The connections did look very clean. Although, now that you made me think about it; that battery is not a perfect fit, so the battery tender cables kind of have to bend to fit so maybe that’s causing a slightly bad connection at times. But that wouldn’t make too much sense since it was working fine for almost 2 years without being touched…[Read more]

Sounds like the battery. Although… Start of this season, I was having to pop-the-clutch all the time. I was on the verge of buying a new battery when I had my own palm-to-forehead moment…. the 2 pin quick plug for the charge tender had a blown fuse in-line to the battery. So, it drained all winter and had to take a deep-charge. I plan on…[Read more]
