I always wondered why my throttle wouldn’t tighten up and why my front brake lever would hit the throttle cables on my F4i. I have found nothing but surprises with this bike I can’t believe its taken me this long in order to start looking into long known problems. Some people should not be allowed to work on anything that moves just for the safety…[Read more]

I just recently replaced my rear which was a q2 with a q3. . I ran my q3 for 7k. . Was new last March and replaced it last month. The q3 is supposed to last even longer. Here are some pics of my q2. Probably could’ve gone longer but I picked up a nail and was losing about 5 lbs of air a day. Also had angled aluminum valves… -

Q3’s are a great set of tires. Great traction, but I can’t speak for their thread life, then again there so cheap for what you get you can’t really go wrong either way unless you just wanted mileage. Which I don’t think anyone has ever advertised Q3’s as long lasting mileage tires.

smalls1000 replied to the topic How do you like to check your oil level? in the forum General Tech Discussions 2 years, 8 months ago
I do as the manual says, which is run it for 3 to 5 minutes. shut it down for 3 to 5 minutes and then check it. Then again I have a 2008 CBR 1000RR that burns oil so I guess I always need to check it before I ride just to make sure my oil is at a good level to ride.

@smalls1000 I’ve never personally used one but I’ve seen a few reviews on YouTube. The video quality looks ok to me. For the price it’s a good deal.

@kewlbreeze I’ve been playing with it everyday trying to get use to it, thats good to hear that its simple I guess its like their phones huh. Thats exactly what I think about when it comes to phones, iPhones are much more simple and android phones just have too much stuff I would never use. Wasn’t sure if macs were the same way given the starting…[Read more]

smalls1000 replied to the topic Anyone do the flapper mod on their 1000rr? in the forum General Tech Discussions 2 years, 10 months ago
Good way to just settle it would do a dyno run with the flapper functioning like normal and then with it unplugged. So who’s got the money to pay for dyno’s in the name of science and the forum .

@dan5291 yeah this thing didn’t come with any form of instructions let alone who would want to read through a manual that thick on how to use a computer lol. So google is the next best set of instructions.

@smalls1000 When I had a macbook the first month or so I was so lost. Then when I switched back to PC I hated every second of it, lol. Grab a regular USB mouse so you can right click.

So I just got a new computer an iMac and I don’t know how to do the simplest of things like copy and paste a link. Anyone know how to do this? and to save pictures I’m just dragging images to my desktop, but theres got to be an easier way to do this?

I don’t think your going to see too much of a negative effect. I too have read that its closed under a certain rpm and then opens for the rest of the time. That being said if its 3 or 4 thousand rpm’s thats pretty low and if your doing under 4000 rpm’s most of your ride you need to look into getting one of these bad boys.
